Wivenhoe & Somerset Fishing Report

By Kay Davis

You can’t beat a fresh feed of fish, whether it crumbed, grilled or baked, and what makes it even better is that you had fun in the sun with the family.  Nice catches of Bass and Yellowbelly are being caught in these beautiful Lakes.  Grand Wivenhoe Social Fishing Club is holding their Comp No. 7. on August 12, the “Bevan Hertrich Shield” on Lake Wivenhoe only.  Sinnamon Point Comp is on 26 August on Lake Wivenhoe and is a members only comp.  Juniors are being sponsored by All Round Angler of Caboolutre and seniors sponsored by the fishing club.  So come on, what are you waiting for, join a group of enthusiastic people, men, women and children, that all enjoy the art of fishing and the story telling at the end of the day.  As the old saying goes, “Teach your children how to fish and they will feed their family forever”.  Tight lines everybody.
