What a fantastic day at the ‘Take a Kid Fishing Day’

By Kay Davis

The day kicked off at 8.00am with the smiles of 28 excited children ready with rod in hand to launch into the water in the hope to catch a fish.  The children learnt everything there is to know about fishing and the ‘tricks of the trade’.  As the old saying goes, “Teach your children to fish, and they will feed their families forever”.  The day was also enjoyed by 35 adults and 15 Grand Wivenhoe Social Fishing Club members.  A  BBQ sausage sizzle was welcomed by all and free giveaways and lucky dips for all the children.
